So everyone has heard of a LBD, (Little Black Dress) but the latest and newest trend is the Little Silk Dress..

Silk dresses are paired with knee high boots, kanye yeezy style boots or even just the cheeky slip on paul smith trainer.

My fav silk slip on dress right now are from MissGuided.. I’ve just ordered a  for my friends ‘surprise’ birthday party and i love it.. I’ll be pairing it with a lace black top underneath maybe trainers or heels.

Walking to the bus stop wearing the cutest mini skirt with tights, a long jumper and denim jacket makeup all on fleek. You’re in your frame of mind, Issues by Julia Michaels is playing through your headphones. A car horn beeps loudly and repeatedly for you to look up and get stared at, the car slows down so the lads can take a good look . Has this happened to you?

Well to me and many of my friends. It is a frequent thing that happens whatever they’re wearing.
But when you get car horns beeping for your attention my first initial reaction was to look up pull my skirt down. I feel I was showing too much skin.. (baring in mind I was wearing tights)
Mind my language but it’s f***ing disgusting how I can feel pretty and a little sexy, before i step out of the door from my family house. But one car horn beep on the road for my attention or one look from a stranger in the street makes me think what I’m wearing is too provocative. It’s something I’ve always known to be around me.

This blog is a long blog about how I feel within reason of getting attention. I don’t mind the attention, it makes me happy. It boosts our ego right?!
But sometimes when I read articles to say dress for your man, dress to please others. Why do I have to please others? What’s the need, because the lad down the street looks at me in a way that makes me uncomfortable is going to make me not wear the things I like?? NO it shouldn’t and it’s stupid that society for girls is still like this.
Wolf whistling, telling girls to come over (has that really ever worked) any little bit of skin showing. SOME guys or even men take it as an opportunity to perv and make girls and women feel like s***. Before I left home my mum said “make sure your skirt doesn’t lift up“. I wouldn’t go out intentionally to pull my skirt higher, I don’t wear fashion to please other people I wear fashion for me. If it’s a plus size model wearing what I wore or whoever it would still be the same.
Even at work I feel many men ask me any question so they can perv.. from even walking to the bus station just to get to university I know there are eyes on me, I know there thinking about either how short my skirt is or whatever. It makes me laugh and think that everything I wear I have to think what is appropriate. Many people wear shorter things on nights out, but “that’s different”. I feel I have to please society, I feel I have to please everyone but myself first. Sometimes it’s just a nice smile but I can’t even wear a short skirt with tights without getting looked at.
Yet I’m not complaining about attention like I said before it feels nice sometimes when a cute barista guy smiles at you whilst to ask for a coffee. Or walking down the city centre shops and a cute guy bites his lip. But there’s a line that SOME men cross.

There is a way society deems girls to have to be, feminist or not whatever label you as a woman or a young girl have put yourself in. You DO NOT EVER need to please anyone else. I have learnt from a very young age that looks aren’t everything, but the media states otherwise. Relationships today are over the phone, they’re texting boys, not men. Girls and guys alike are using social media platforms to build upon a relationship that can be broken down by a like from a girl in his class who has a boyfriend. The amount of s*** I see on Facebook of my friends in and out of relationships, posting photos of their bodies and setting it as their profile photo for ANYONE to look at is the problem. Social media is something that is now out of anyone’s control, revenge porn is on the rise with 1 in 5 girls sending nude photos to the guy she thinks is cute. Pleasing him with a body photo which can instantly be used against her. Guys get call lads when they’re sleeping with multiple girls at uni, create a lad point system so rank the girls on attractiveness and what they’re like in bed. If a girl sleeps with more than 2 guys they’re deemed as sluts, whores and slags. Why.. when girls and guys have the freedom to do whatever they want, university student life is the hardest. You are trying to be yourself trying to find yourself, you don’t have to be with so many guys. You don’t have to even go clubbing. This is the year where you find out who you are and what you want in life..

Be yourself at university, try an experiment if you like. You are not trying to impress anyone but make sure that you as a person in life is happy. As you are the only one that you want to impress and make sure that in life you have tried..

But.. It needs to stop, we can wear whatever we want, whenever we want. I don’t dress for anyone or to PLEASE anyone. My body and face is for me and for me to love.

BRALETTES, LACE & LINGERIE..

Victoria Secret, Topshop, Urban Outfitters are all well-known shops to stock bralettes. They have been the height of the fashion chart this year, floral and lace patterns taking over the lingerie scene. Yet which ones are the best and why?

I have taken a few of my favourite looks from the high fashion shops and tried to find a similarly at an affordable price, so you keep the student money for all the important stuff *cough alcohol  cough*

 

BRALETTES

The first bralette is the  Lace Halter Neck Bra £20, from Urban Outfitter. Halter Neck bras are very comfortable and do look stunning. But pattern going through and along the bralette I  think is so much better. Yet the second photo is of the Blush Lace Bralette £9 from Primark. (The Blush Lace Thong is also only £3 ) I honestly love this bralette so much more, the under detailing and back of the bralette is better and Primark also has matching underwear with three pairs for £5.. 

The  (first top) Floral Mesh Triangle Bra is probably the most wanted bralette, as many celebs such as Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Pia Mia and much more have styled this lacy bra matched with underwear or a white top like Miss Kenny Jenner has… The Black Lace Bralette from Primark at £8 is very similar and for more than half the price it is perfect for a night out or a night in..

This’blush palette’ is life for me, its probably the most cheapest palette and has lasted me a lifetime. The colour and pigmentation is out of this world, for me there have been many highlighters. Kylighter, Anastasia Beverly Hills and so on.. But for a cheap way for you to slay on any day (see that rhyme), this is my go to highlight palette.

The formula is never ever dry on my lips, it glides on smoothly and smells like vanilla buttercream. BROWN | KYLINER KIT

This kit is perfect for eyeliner, but a little trick I do is actually use this to fill in my eyebrows. The brush is easily applied onto the brow, as my kyliner was bought the first time it came out. The brush has changed (so im unable to speak about how well the brush applies the formula on this one).  The liner also comes with a pencil in which you can opt for a natural brow look if in a rush, or a slick arched look anyone would die for.

Good things come in small packages right, well this is the moment when you see the highlighter you’ll probably want every single one. Strobing is now a very old style to highlight your face, yet this highlight stick is the best thing I have ever seen. The gold shimmer is one of the best i have used, i also use the revolution highlighter too just to enhance the golden highlight glow everyone wants.

 

 

THE DISTRESSED LOOKBOOK

So as many people know, Mr Kanye West has suddenly started rocking the ‘distressed look’. Mr West has come out with many looks with rips, holes and it has taken the fashion world by storm. Even buying a Season 1 jumper sets you back to over £1,000. Who has the money to even buy anything like that when there are affordable ways of getting the same look for more than half the price..

King Ky is probably the most expensive (if you live in the UK), BUT.. There is one top that I have and I love.. shipping and also customs charging but the shirt can be worn with the lettering at the back or the front.. Wearing this with a denim jacket and dark jeans.. or for summer time you can opt for denim shorts and a little black sports bra underneath.

There are many ways you can style the ‘Yeezy look’ if none of these have caught your attention.. why not try and make your own?! Get an old top what you don’t really wear anymore. Take a pair of scissors and open them out wide, place the top underneath a hard surface (so scratches are taken onto that surface). Scratch, rip and cut away!! You can make your tops, jeans and denim jackets look so fashionable and unique with this look.

UNI LIFE, FRIENDS & HOW TO COPE..

University means a life changing process for everyone. It isn’t an experience it’s also a challenge you learn to live with the hard exams, the essays, the boys or girls you like, even making new friends. But university is just a place where you can become yourself where nobody can or will judge you because they’re all doing the same. I have been pushed from my secondary schools to figure  out what I want to do in my life. “What do you want to be when you’re older” is a question which in fact scared me a lot, due to the fact I didn’t know I never knew when I was younger because I wanted to just have fun. I personally want my life to be enjoyable and socially challenging as well. I want to be pushed by my family and friends to be and do the best I can. The surroundings you have is what you need to motivate yourself to get that exceptional first or 2:1. Aim high the highest and if you try and you don’t get what you want, your done the best you can.

From being told that I’m “very mature for your age” I never understood what that meant until today. I have a frame of mind that if negativity is near you, get out of the way. It’s not needed. But sometimes that negativity is too close to you but the best thing to do is talk about it. University isn’t about getting a degree it’s more than that, friends for life surround you, supporters from family and old friends is the best thing anyone can ever have.

The pictures are just my life since I’ve been away, I’ve known many people at university that have changed my life that without them I wouldn’t be who I am..

My Acne Story..

These photos were taken January this year.. My skin felt as it was burning, spots didn’t have anything in them and my skin was horrific.. Being on holiday I felt so self conscious and didn’t want to go out..

I felt i couldn’t even wear make-up and the app ‘FaceTune’ was my best friend..I had enough and i went to the doctors.. the pain was too much for me to handle and i felt ugly.

I was put onto a tablet called Lymecycline, this helped so much and after a few months of taking them everyday for about five months, my skin started to clear.

BUT.. keeping on these tablets wasn’t easy.

I would miss days and it came clear that my skin cleared on it’s own..

I felt better and noticed whenever I took the pills they got worse..

(DON’T RECOMMEND COMING OFF TABLETS SUDDENLY SEEK DOCTORS ADVICE)

Natural face masks and remedies were the next option.. I visited my local Lush store and it was the BEST thing I’ve ever done.
